The woman who has only been identified as Benta Nyar Taita is said to have lost her life following a scuffle which broke between the husband Collins Odiemo and her on Wednesday night.

It is alleged that the deceased had accused her husband of having an affair with another woman from that same village, an issue that caused a fight between them.

According villagers, after realizing that he had accidentally killed his wife, the 40 year old man called the area Assistant Chief Mr. Jacob Ouma who issued a death notification slip before the body was secretly removed to Bama hospital mortuary in Siaya town to cover up on the suspected murder incident.

The Assistant chief is however said to have followed the man up to the mortuary and withdrew the death notification slip after noticing that members of the public had started questioning why he authorized the removal of that body in an incident which was supposed to be a police case.

Efforts by Dala FM to establish why the Assistant Chief took that move which automatically interfered with the scene of crime proved futile after he completely refused to talk about the matter and eventually switched of his phone.

Chief of South Central Alego location Mr. Ouma Osodo confirmed the death of the woman but declined to divulge more information, noting that the matter is in the hands of the police who have already launched investigations to ascertain the real cause of the woman’s death.

Chief Ouma Osodo stated that no arrest has so far been made in regard to the suspected murder of that woman.
