Youths in Migori County urged to involve themselves into viable activities that can empower them economically instead of waiting for handouts from politicians.
This was according to Migori County youth president Joseph Nyapete who said that most youths had neglected creating job opportunity for themselves and just rely on hand outs from politicians.
Speaking in Migori during a youth forum in the region Nyapete said that most development programs in Migori County failed to prosper due to the laxity of the youths in coming out and taking up such programs which he said should not be seen taking place.
He urged the youths not to lament all the time and even held a strike over issues which can be solved saying that if they collaborated with the government as youths then they would benefit in such programs which would later ensure that their livelihood was improved.
His sentiments were also echoed by Mrs. Mariam Abdala, the coordinator of a non-governmental organization known as Undugu society in Migori County who told the youths to come up and ensure they involve into issues that benefit them and the society at large.
