Police in Nyatike have nabbed bhang weighing over 400 kg worth ksh. 400 million street value along Muhuru Sori road Nyatike Sub County last night.
Migori Police commander Joseph Nthenge said that police on patrol managed to stop a car of Noah make that was heading towards Sori but failed to stop before making a chase saying that the driver of the car left the car and disappeared into the bushes and on checking the car they found several bags of bhang.
Speaking to Dala fm in his office, the police boss said that the vehicle was taken to Nyatike police station as the police conduct further investigation into matter.
Nthenge however said that despite police not being found in roadblocks they have invented a mechanism in ensuring that all those who engage into such illegal businesses are identified and dealt with in accordance to the law.
He called upon all those owning vehicles to be vigilant and ensure that their vehicles are in the right place at all times and are not used in doing such illegal businesses because if found they would be confiscated and not returned.
This comes just 5 day after security personnel led by Migori County Commissioner Joseph Rotich burnt and destroyed bhang weighing 1720kg worth Ksh.17.2 million in Lichota grounds Suna west Sub County.
