A victim of an assault questioned why police in Kisumu failed to take action on Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo.

Maurice Ochieng Oduor had reported at the Kisumu Central Police station on 4th June this year when he was assaulted by the MP in Kisumu over a post he wrote on his Facebook timeline.

Ochieng said since he was issued with an OB number and recorded a statement almost one and a half months ago, nothing had been done over the matter.

He’d been seeking for justice and wondered¬† why the officers had not arrested the suspect and arraigned him in court.

Speaking to the press in Kisumu alongside other youths, Ochieng said his lawyer had already written to the Officer Commanding Police Station in Kisumu.

He said the letter was also copied to a number of senior police officers questioning the motive behind the lull over the matter since it was reported.

Ochieng said he would not tire seeking justice over the assault.

James Kirunda, a youth in Kisumu who spoke during the presser asked the Director of Criminal Investigations to step in and ensure the MP is brought to book.

Kirunda said nobody was above the law and everybody must adhere to the rules in the country.
