Traders in Ramba Market incur huge losses after they were dispersed by the police officers as per the order given by Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga and the county commissioner Michael Oletialal of closing up all open air markets.
Led by Brian Wasonga who is a trader dealing in Omena noted that they had spent a lot of money in purchasing the stock and it is now worrying that the markets are closed before gaining profit or selling the whole stock since they cannot sustain their families considering that they depend on the sale they make to run their lives.
He urged the county government to come to their aid since the markets have been closed
Addressing the press while packing their goods and products, Beatrice Akinyi, they lamented that they will be suffering the most if they cannot be allowed to sell.
Citing that there are widows who depend on the markets to make their ends meet.
At the same time, they urged the county government to ensure they disinfect the markets and the traders be allowed to sell.
