A section of people living with disability has called on the county government of Migori to ensure they support people living with disability in the county in a bid to enhance their livelihood.
Led by the Migori County chairman for people living with disability Mr.Albert Matara he said that the county government of Migori has for long time neglected people living with disability in providing various financial support allocation.
While speaking to press in Migori they have shown their disappointment with the county government for not considering people living with disability in the recent past and even in the tomorrow’s UN day celebrations for people living with disability urging the county government to come out and help them from the predicaments they are going through since they are also tax payers.
His sentiment were also echoed by Mrs.Roda Adhiambo who said that there has been an allocation from the national government for people living with disabilities but has not been given to them asking the county of migori to come out and address the matter for their help.
Mr.Matara however at the same time took the opportunity to call on the county assembly of Migori to come up with a bill that addresses issues of disability in a bid to also ensure they are considered just like others.
On his part Mr.Samwel Ogallo who works in the Migori County woman representative’s office called upon other leaders from the region to also come out and assist people living with disabilities in various ways so as not to be seen as if they are neglected in the society.
Meanwhile Migori County minister for education sports and youth Mr.Samson Maginga while speaking to Dala fm over the matter he said that the county government has been supporting the people living with disability in various capacities hence alluding that the county government is not helping them is misplaced and not in order.
