Thirty bright but needy students joining form one from Alego Usonga constituency have received full education scholarship from the area NG-CDF to a tune of sh.1million.
According to Alego Usonga Mp Samuel Atandi, this is the second batch of students from the constituency going to receive the scholarship to pursue their entire secondary education, among them are 18 girls and 12 boys.
The legislator stated that in last year, they offered scholarship to 35 needy but bright students to join secondary school to a tune of sh1.3million.
Addressing the press in Siaya town, hon. Atandi says that as a constituency the want to ensure that there is an increase of professionals as well as help alleviate poverty in area the hence the need of offering the full scholarship to the bright and needy students.
He further assured other students who may need bursary assistance that his office is working towards ensuring that the process of bursary issuance is complete by February calling on those who are yet to take the form to do so.
The legislator on the other hand challenged the county government of Siaya to emulate what other counties have been doing, offering students with scholarship, saying education is one of the important aspects of life that every government should take seriously.
