Residents of Kasire Village in North Kodera location in Kasipul now live in fear due to increased number of hyena that are attacking their animals.
According to the area village elder Pius Nyerere Okinda, the hyena has been removing the sheep and goats from the dens and also eating those found tied outside.
The hyena is walking only in this area and the villagers have been trying to trap it but all has fallen in vain.
Addressing the press, the assistant chief of the area Joseph Omondi Omoro confirmed this saying they have made reports to the KWS that has put some effort to trap it but nothing has been achieved and so far
it has eaten three sheep and three goats.
He noted that he has reported the matter to the deputy county commissioner to try addressing the issue so that they can live normally.
