By JOSEPH OJWANG.
Youth in Kisumu have piled more pressure on Kisumu County Executive Committee member for finance Nerry Achar to quit in the wake of an onslaught from the County Assembly.
The youth who held a press conference in Kisumu told Achar to vacate office and allow Governor Anyang Nyong’o to nominate a substantive CeC in place.
Philip Pande who read the statement says Achar has caused more harm to the people of Kisumu than good.
Pande says the CeC has been a stumbling block to contractors who have not been paid after offering services to the county.
He says Achar has failed in his mandate to steer the finance docket and asked Governor Nyong’o to make haste and relieve him of his duty.
Pande says the revenue collection in the county is dwindling and wondered where the collected money is being taken to.
He says reports indicate that traders are giving out rates but what reaches the county coffers is less.
He says the county has used a lot of money in setting up a revenue collection point but cannot account for the money collected.
The youth has in the meantime issued ultimatum to Achar to leave office or wait for ejection by the public.
