One body among the two people who drowned in River Kuja after their boat capsized in Konyuna village North Kanyamkago in Uriri Sub County last Sunday has been retrieved.

According to the area Chief Mr.Milton Otieno Otieno he said that the body of Michael Otieno was retreated two miles away from the place their boat capsized on that fateful Sunday.

While speaking to Dala fm over the phone chief Otieno said that through the search they made in collaboration with the villagers and some county experts who have been camping in the area since the incident took place they managed to retrieve the body last evening however showing optimism that the other body of Joseph Alo would be found.

He has however appealed to the residents to ensure they use the bridges around the places now that rain pounds the area in a bid to avert cases of drowning which has been reported in the area in the recent past especially to the visitors who sometimes cross the river to the other side.

Two people whose names were established as Michael Otieno and Joseph Alo drowned as they were crossing river Kuja heading to Ndhiwa after attending a church meeting in in Konyuna Uriri Sub County when the boat was over powered by the running water before it capsized where one of the occupant escaped death after he managed to swim.
