MIGORI COUNTY GOVERNMENT IN COLLABORATION WITH AN NGO TO CONSTRUCT A KSH.1.5 MILLION MARKET CENTRE

Muhuru Ward business community in Nyatike Sub County have a reason to smile after an NGO in Collaboration with the county government of Migori agreed to construct a market in Banda Village in a bid to enhance business activities in the area.

According to Muhuru Ward Representative Mr.Hevron Kilmes Maira he said that for long time the area residents have been seeing difficulties in doing business and selling their goods saying that the construction of such a market would be a reprieve for them to enhance their business activities for their economic enhancement.

While speaking to press in Muhuru after commissioning of the construction of the market, Maira reiterated every requirement for the construction of the market has been put in place and while collaborating with other department they will ensure that the market is constructed in a period of 5 months calling upon them to come out and support the programme in a bid to see more benefits.

On her Part, the director of Captive Global Organization Mrs.Grace Connel which is a non-governmental organization said that they took the opportunity after learning the predicament women and the widows in the area have been facing to fend for their families after lucking market places to sell their commodities something she said the programme will help them especially women to overcome such problems and enhance their income for better living standards in the region just like other places in Kenya.

She said the project is expected to cost ksh.1.5 million shillings.

Maira at the same time took the opportunity to call upon other leaders from the area especially the area MP to provide enough security to the residents given that the area is a bordering Tanzania and they have been facing several harassment from the Tanzanian authorities especially to the fishermen hence there is need to enhance security in the region.
