Parents in Siaya County have been urged to stay close to their children and play their parental role during this long school holidays.
This is a call from the County Executive Committee Member for Education Mary Olute, who mentioned that this will also give the parents a chance to study the behavior of their children and be able to learn their characters.
Addressing the press in Siaya town, Mrs. Olute said many at times children lack their parents’ attention and in the long run they end up indulging in other non-benefiting activities that interfere with their life.
Her sentiments were echoed by Bernard Adalla who is the MCA nominated to representing youths in Siaya County Assembly who reiterated that youths should be responsible and refrain from activities that do not add value to their lives.
He equally asked the community at large to act responsibly in a bid to nature a productive and well behaved children during the 2 months holiday period.
