By JOSEPH OJWANG, Kisumu County.
Residents of Kisumu County have been blamed for failing to adhere to the government directives in a bid to combat the spread of COVI 19.
The County Commissioner Susan Waweru said the situation is bad in the county noting that drastic measures must now be taken to enforce the law.
Waweru said she has visited a number of areas in the county and recorded lack of seriousness among the people as far as implementing the directives are concerned.
Addressing the press in Kisumu, Waweru faulted the transport sector which has failed to heed the call of distance socializing.
She said matatus are carrying excess number to what was recommended.
The Commissioner said they are swinging into action any time to ensure the public follows measures put in place by the government.
She added that some markets lack hand washing materials and threatened to close such markets.
Waweru wondered why Kibuye was closed yet the business is as usual today noting that it should now take an individual to enforce the law.
