Kisumu All Stars on top

Kisumu All Stars go top of the National Super League table after beating visiting team Eldoret Youth 2-0 at the Kisumu Moi Stadium.

Kisumu All Stars now has 63 points with five games to go before the league comes to a close.

If the team progresses well, then they will join the National League next season.

Their coach Francis Odiwuor is optimistic that the team will continue to post excellent results in the remaining matches.

Odiwuor says the vigor among the players is to take part in the national league next season.

He says the team is working round the clock through trainings to be able to emerge the winner in the league for a qualification.

Eldoret Youth team manager Anderson Okumu says the match was well played despite his side losing two to nil.

Odiwuor says the loss will not dampen their spirit as they look ahead to perform well in their remaining matches.

The two teams came to a draw first half with Kisumu All Stars player Ian Mutanda breaking the ice in the second half.

The second own goal moments later gave the home team the lead.
