Kisumu Governor Jack Ranguma has announced that statistics indicate that Kisumu is ahead in provision and access to clean and affordable water supply.
Ranguma says Kisumu County supply of water to households’ stands at 72 per cent against the country statistics of 52 percent.
The Governor says that shows that Kisumu County residents are receiving water in large numbers and called upon them to conserve water at the disposal.
Kisumu sits next to the second largest fresh water lake in the world, Lake Vitoria, and that can be attributed to the statistics.
Despite that, the county government recently purchased water drilling equipments worth Sh. 59 million.
Speaking when he launched community water being implemented by KIWSCO in Nyalenda, Ranguma says his vision is to ensure that every household have access to water.
He says that he is determined to make a comeback in August to continue with his development.
Ranguma says water remains his priority and no Kisumu residents will be without water.
