KUPPET acting national chairman Mr. Julius Korir has taken issues with the Education cabinet secretary Ambassador Amina Mohamed over the new policies being introduced in the education system.
Korir says that it is important for the cabinet secretary to always take time study and understand education policies before introducing new ones.
He points out that currently the education department is full of confusion following parallel policies being introduced by the teachers’ service commission and the ministry of education.
The unionist therefore called on the two bodies to ensure they harmonize their discussions before introducing new policies so as to reduce the rampant confusion being witnessed.
Speaking during KUPPET Siaya branch general meeting held in Siaya town, he at the same time called on anybody involved in Ruaraka primary school land saga to step aside for investigations to take place.
He says that regardless of positions in government being held by those involved in the case that has elicited lots of interest they need to be thoroughly investigated act action taken against those found guilty.
On the other hand he said that the union will consult the relevant organs before coming to a conclusion on whether to support the teachers strike planned for September and organized by sister organization KNUT .
