Women living with disability in Kisumu County are facing difficulties to get suitors due to discrimination. Speaking in Kisumu during the celebration to mark UN day for persons living with disability, the women say getting married is no easy task.
Evelyn Awuor says no men are ready to marry off women who are living with disability. Awuor urged men to be ready to marry any women regardless of their disability.
She says women with disability are productive and told men not to discriminate when it comes to marriage. Awuor further called for political inclusion and challenged the county government to ensure access to offices are friendly to them.
Lily Achola on her part urged those living with disability to embrace sporting activities as a way of earning an income. Achola called for support from the county government noting that those participating in sports have been neglected with no financial support.
