The country needs to do more effort to decisively deal with the york of corruption.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga said more must be done to wipe out corrupt individuals in the country.
Odinga said the status of the nation in terms of corruption index worldwide is shocking and must be reversed.
Speaking at Ratta in Kisumu during the funeral of Dorca Nyong’o, the mother of Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o, Raila said Kenyans must themselves redeem its corruption image.
He said more arrests and arraignment in court of individuals who are corrupt should occur as a deterrent measure.
He reiterated his earlier stand on the church noting that they should lead from the front in the fight against graft.
Raila said most corrupt individuals always run to church with their loot asking the church to reject such donations.
He announced that he is behind a motion in parliament by minority leader John Mbadi barring leaders from contributing more than Sh. 100,000 in fund raisings.
He noted that if such laws were in place the country would make a leap in the fight against corruption.
