The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) Siaya branch has maintained its stand that teachers should boycott the four days Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) training.

KNUT Bondo branch Executive Secretary Mr. Gilbert Ndolo Owuor says that they are not for the CBC training which is set to kick off this morning at the zonal level saying that the government seems not to be prepared for the change of curriculum in this country.

Mr. Ndolo wondered why school heads are being compelled to contribute monies for facilitation of the CBC training when it is in public domain that the programme was supposed to be World Bank funded.

Speaking at their offices in Bondo town he therefore asked the school heads and their Boards of Management not to part with any amount of money towards funding of the training saying that the ministry should use World Bank funds instead.

Mr. Ndolo has therefore reiterated that they will only accept the Competency Based Curriculum once the government avails adequate resources that are required for kicking off the programme saying that they will not allow the government to experiment with the future of Kenyans.
