Muhoroni/Koru ward MCA Julius Genga has raised an alarm over arbitrary arrest of his people mainly from Koguta clan.
Genga says up to four people have been arrested.
But interestingly, Genga says the four have been arrested and being detained in different police stations in Kericho County.
He says the last person to be picked is a shopkeeper in Muhoroni town who was arrested at his work place. The arrests, he says, are being done by police officers from the neighboring county.
The MCA says those who have been arrested were in the forefront to call for the return of a land parcel that was taken by the Muhoroni Sugar Company.
They also participated in the refusal to be enumerated in the just concluded census on the Kericho side.
Genga says some elders within Koguta clan are collaborators with the administrators and that has led to the arrests.
He says the charges the four are being held on are tramped up.
The MCA says the arrests are politically instigated and called upon the political leadership in the county of Kisumu to step up and speak.
Genga says at his level as the area MCA, he has tried and it is now time for a concerted effort to address the matter politically.
